Laurie Heikkila is an internationally recognized educator, speaker, curriculum consultant, and workshop leader with over sixteen years of experience and a strong belief in constructivist learning. As the Online Learning Coordinator for WVIZ/PBS Ideastream Laurie is closely involved with the quickly evolving online learning environments and the role they play in education. She is a certified Moodle Administrator and actively develops content using Moodle. Laurie also has a special interest in girls learning styles and in how girls learn about and work with technology. Laurie has volunteered for FIRST for 8 years including 3 years as a regional director for the Cleveland, Ohio FIRST Lego League robotics competitions. She has taught at the Laurel School for Girls, in the Cleveland public schools, and at Cleveland State University, from which she also holds a masters degree in educational technology.
